MINUTES OF THE CONGRESS HELD ON THURSDAY, 26^TH JUNE, 2013, IN MME LT

OPENING

The meeting started by 3:30 pm. With prayer from comrade Awoleye Olufemi (aka Viccy)

ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

The motion for the adoption of the agenda was moved by Comrade Awoleye Olufemi seconded by Comrade Yakubu Adenike (aka Nimot)

BUSINESS OF THE DAY

The President (Bamidele Emmanuel aka Alex Emmy) briefed the congress men about the successful swearing ceremony of the new executives of the association (NAMMES).The outcome of her meeting with professor Ade Ajayi. He also spoke about the innovation of the NAMMES newsletter and promised to improve on its standard and employed the members of the association to contribute their quota to it inform of articles and write ups.

PART V SENTFORTH

This motion was moved by the President himself and seconded by Comrade S.O.J a part 5 student.

Comrade Nimot suggested that a meeting with the part 5 student will help in deciding what to do concerning their sent forth. Comrade Adedipe Damilola added, he said “the lion shear of the expenditure should be allocated to the part 5 students. Comrade S.O.J in his words lamented about how the political and most especially the spiritual mind of most part 5 students has dissolve a committee sent up to look into the actualization of this agenda. The President said due to the lean status of the association account it will be difficult to achieve this agenda and promised to come up with ideals so that subsequent part 5 student will see and appreciate the beauty of a sent forth ceremony.

DISSOLVE OF ALL STANDING COMMITTEE

The motion was moved by Com. Oladele Bobola David and seconded by Com. Adedipe Damilola

The President said that a committee will be set up to review the constitution of the association. In his words he said “the committee will be made up of those members of the association who for once has served at the level of the Student Representative Council and eminent members of the association. Com. S.O.J employed the President to ensure that the committee to be sent up alloy the Nigeria, NUESA and FUTASUG constitution in the review of the constitution and added that the involvement of the part 5 student may not be feasible due to their ongoing project.

PROGRAMES FOR 2^ND SEMESTER

First under this agenda was software training which will include Powerpoint, Autocad and more. The president, according to his words said “I believe this will help members of the association who wish to have knowledge on how to use such software. Organization of tutorials for 100level to 400level student was also discussed. Progress about the scholarship list of job appointment for all NAMMESite members was also discussed and he employed the congress men to fill the list given to their class captains from 2-500 level.  Implementation of committee to look in to the planning of NAMMES day was not left out.

SUGGESTIONS

Com. S.O.J in his words lamented on the performance of the honorables representing the association at the S.R.C level and suggested that the honorable should be banded to give a timely report of the happenings at the S.R.C level.

MOTION FOR THE ADJOURNMENT OF CONGRESS

The motion was moved by Adelowo Amos and seconded by Com. Adedipe Damilola.

The meeting ended by 4:30 with closing prayer from Com. Nimot (Vice President).
